CORRECTED? VERSION

BOHEMIANS

Bohemians, founded in 1962, have had their fair share of problems this season but are nonetheless doing well in Murphy's Stout AUL 2B. Tony Chambers and Vincent Murray were elected manager and assistant manager at the start of the season. Tony, however, had to get a hip replacement operation, and Vincent, due to work commitments, was no longer able to run the team. Peter Gahan is now the player-manager.

The northside team, who nowadays play in the Hollyhill Community Ground, have had some great servants over the years. One of them was George Duke who from 1966 to 1998 worked as committee member and treasurer of the club. And they'll also always remember the trojan contribution of Paddy O'Regan, a former secretary and manager of the club up to his premature death in December 1999.

Bohs, whose short-term ambition is to win the league this season, have been successful in the past and one of the highlights of their early days was a run to the quarter-finals of the Munster Junior Cup in 1968. They won the Second Division league and Shield that year and were runners up to Rockmount in the O'Keeffe Cup. They were successful on 3B in 1995.

The current team captain is Jim O'Brien, "the old man of the club" - he is the longest serving player. They have registered some impressive results. The best so far have been 5-1 against Brooklodge in the league and 3-2 against Premier A side Crescent in the AOH Cup.

They have twenty three players signed this season and they are: Jim O'Brien, John Byrne, Paul Murray, Mark Twomey, Alan Twomey, John Cronin, Eddie Chambers, Stephen Sheehan, Robert Walsh, Daniel Curran, Damien Mostyn, Greg Coleman, Paul Rea, Garry O'Mahony, David O'Sullivan, Trevor O'Donovan, Leonard Hosford, Derek Daniels, Barry Hayes, Peter Gahan, Alan Daniels, Colin Quinn and Trevor McSweeney.

The current committee consists of Anthony Forde, Chairman; Eddie Chambers, Vice-Chairman; Tony Chambers, Secretary; Jim O'Brien, Treasurer; Peter Gahan; John Byrne; and Stephan Sheehan.
